Dummy cake shapes are extremely versatile and these shapes are made of high quality compressed polystyrene so they are very sturdy.
Foam shapes are used as a tier of a structured cake to save money and avoid excess cake when it is not required. They can also be used as a cake tier separator and also for display cakes and practice cakes. Buttercream icing and royal icing can also be adhered to the sides of our foam shapes.
Decorate as you would a normal cake; lightly cover your tier with water or piping gel before applying fondant icing to ensure it adhere to the sides of the foam.
