Fruit

Fruit is an easy and delicious way to add texture and character to a cake. From bright red strawberries to summer yellow mangos, there are many different types of fruit that will instantly elevate your cake. If you’re using fresh fruit, we recommend that you add them onto your cake at the last minute to avoid the buttercream/frosting from moving too much.

Sprinkles

Using sprinkles to decorate is one of our favourite traditional ways to decorate, they taste delicious and are super colourful. You’ve probably seen them just sprinkled on top of cakes, but there are so many other ways to use them. You could use them inside the cake for a fun surprise or patted on the sides of the cake for a pop of colour. At Cake Decorating Central you’ll find a huge variety of cake sprinkles ranging from the traditional round shape to themed mixes with different colours and shapes.

Gel & Airbrush Food Colouring

Food colouring is a staple in food decorating. Not only can it be used throughout the cake, but we’ve seen some cool ways that people have incorporated it into their design process. Using a stencil and an airbrush with food colouring, you can instantly add an intricate design that looked like it took hours to do. We’ve also seen people use gel food colouring to paint directly onto frosting or fondant.
